এক বাঘের পা খোঁড়া হয়ে গিয়াছিল। বনের মধ্যে তাহার বাসা। বাসা ছাড়িয়া সে নড়িতে পারে না। একদিন এক শিয়াল তাহাকে দেখিতে আসিল। সে দূরে দাঁড়াইয়া দেখিতে লাগিল। বাঘ বলিলো “তুমি ওখানে দাঁড়াইয়া আছো কেন? কাছে এসো, গল্প করি।” শিয়াল বলিল “আমার সাহস হয় না। তোমার নিকট অনেক জন্তু আসিয়াছে। তাহাদের পদচিহ্ন দেখিতেছি। কিন্তু তাহারা ফিরিয়া গিয়াছে এরূপ কোন চিহ্ন তো দেখিতেছি না।”
A tiger’s leg became lame. His house is in the forest. He can’t move out of the house. One day, a fox came to see him. The fox stood aloof and watched. The tiger said, “Why are you standing there? Come closer; let’s talk.” The fox replied, “I dare not. Many animals have come to you. I see their footprints, but I see no sign that they have gone back.”

The tiger’s leg had become lame, and he resided in a house within the forest, unable to venture outside. One day, a fox approached to visit him. Keeping a distance, the fox observed. The tiger inquired, “Why are you standing there? Come closer; let’s talk.” The fox responded, “I dare not. Many animals have come to you; I can see their footprints. However, I notice no indication that they have returned.”
