একদা এক বালক বিদ্যালয় হইতে অন্য এক বালকের একখানি পুস্তক চুরি করিয়া আনিয়াছিল। অতি শৈশবে তাহার মাতাপিতার মৃত্যু হয়। তাহার মাসি তাহাকে পালন করিয়াছিলেন। তিনি তাহার হস্তে ওই পুস্তক খানি দেখিয়া জিজ্ঞাসা করিলেন, “ভুবন, এই পুস্তক তুমি কোথায় পাইলে?” সে বলিল, “বিদ্যালয়ের একবালকের পুস্তক।” মাসি বুঝিতে পারিলেন ভুবন ওই পুস্তকখানি চুরি করিয়াছে। কিন্তু তিনি পুস্তক ফিরাইয়া দিতে বলিলেন না এবং ভুবন কে চুরি করিতে নিষেধ করিলেন না।
Once, a boy stole a book from another boy at school. His parents had died when he was in early childhood, and his aunt had brought him up. She noticed the book in his hand and asked, “Bhuvan, where did you get this book?” He replied, “This is a book from another boy at school.” The aunt realized that Bhuvan had stolen the book. But she neither asked him to return it nor forbade him from stealing.
