Sub: Bad Condition of Street Lights in our Locality.
Sir,
I shall be grateful to you if you give me a little space in your esteemed daily to express my concern about poor condition of street lights in our locality.
The street lights in our area have not been repaired for quite a while. Only a few of them are functioning. At various places, there are no street lights at all. The situation turns worse after sunset. Many small accidents have happened due to poor visibility and there remains a danger of some major accident since it is a very busy road. It is highly dangerous for the pedestrians as it turns dark in the night. It has also caused a spurt of incidence of crimes in our area. Poor lighting arrangements may further increase such anti-social activities. The residents have approached the municipal authorities time and again but nothing has been done so far.
I, therefore, on behalf of the people of our locality, request the concerned authority to take necessary steps to solve the problem.
