Sub: Thoughtless felling of trees.
Sir,
I shall be grateful to you if you give me a little space in your esteemed daily to express my concern over thoughtless felling of trees.
Since man’s first appearance on earth, he was depended on trees. But with the growth of the industrial civilization, trees have been destroyed for expanding human habitation. Man’s greed has led to senseless deforestation which has upset the ecological balance. Cool and soothing atmosphere is now replaced by heat and dust.
Trees are invaluable national wealth. We have to depend on trees for various kind of medicines, honey and wax, resin and gums etc. Trees are natural habitat of birds and wild animals. Besides they keep out environmental pollution. Trees prevent soil erosion, attract rain and add to the beauty of nature.
People must be made aware of the utility of trees and their great influence on our life.
I, also request the government to take necessary steps to mitigate the problem.

Thanking you,
Yours truly,
Rakesh Das
