Maulana Abul Kalam Azad

Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was a great writer and also a freedom activist. He was born on 11th November in 1988. He composed many poetry in Urdu. Besides he worked as a journalist. Later he protested against the British Raj. He was an enthusiastic supporter of Gandhi’s ideas of non-violence. He became a senior leader of the Indian National Congress. He also wrote many famous books like ‘India wins freedom’, ‘Ghubar-e-Khatir’ etc.. He was the first Education Minister of independent India. His birthday is celebrated as ‘National Education Day’. This great man passed away on 22nd February in 1958.
